CNAH highly recommends this pocket guide. Although the initial press run was a robust 23,000 copies, they won't last long.

Standard Common and Current Scientific Names for North American Amphibians, Turtles, Reptiles, and Crocodilians. Fifth Edition), published by The Center for North American Herpetology (available as a pdf at the CNAH web site) and updated daily online.
