  NLatin - honors William Bruce Mabee (1897- ?)
Original Description:2 
  Ambystoma mabeei Bishop (1928, Journal of the Elisha Mitchell Scientific Society 43: 157). Holotype: USNM 75058. Type locality: "low grounds of the Black River near Dunn, [Harnett County,] N[orth]. C[arolina]."
Distribution:
  Coastal plain of North Carolina and South Carolina.
