Collared Lizards Crotaphytus   Holbrook, 1842

Taxonomic Comments:

An error in Collins (1997 Herpetological Circular 25: 1-40) resulted in the inclusion of Crotaphytus insularis in his list. It was included by mistake when re-arranging the species in this genus to conform to McGuire (1996 Bulletin of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History 32: iv + 143 pp.). Users should delete C. insularis from Collins' list.
